About Miss Erika

I’m an experienced educator with over 8 years of experience working with children from preschool through middle school in both general and special education settings. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a California Education Specialist Teaching Credential, and I have also completed coursework in Early Childhood Development and Multiple Subject education.

As a teacher, tutor, paraprofessional, substitute teacher, and homeschool educator, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and needs. I especially enjoy helping young learners build strong foundations in early literacy, beginning math, communication, social-emotional skills, and confidence as learners.

My teaching style is patient, creative, encouraging, and hands-on. I believe kindergarten should be a place where children feel safe, valued, curious, and excited to learn. I love finding different ways to explain and explore concepts so that each child has an opportunity to experience success.

As a homeschool mom myself, I understand the importance of creating a classroom environment that supports not only academic growth, but also the whole child. I’m excited to bring my experience, creativity, and passion for children to the Arise homeschool community and to make kindergarten a joyful foundation for each child’s educational journey.
